Global cloud communications platform Infobip announced the launch of WhatsApp Business Calling, a new feature that enables businesses to make and receive voice calls using their WhatsApp Business numbers. This addition enhances Infobip’s omnichannel platform by enabling richer, real-time conversations within the messaging app used by millions worldwide.
This feature enables businesses worldwide to receive and make voice calls through WhatsApp’s native interface, eliminating the need for customers to leave the app. Calls can be initiated directly from WhatsApp chats, interactive messages, or deep links within websites and apps, providing multiple convenient entry points. Integration with Infobip Conversations, the company’s cloud contact center solution, allows customer support agents to seamlessly transition from chat to voice mode, maintaining consistent conversation history and context.
“Our customers tell us that voice remains critical for delivering exceptional service, especially for complex issues that require real-time interaction,” said Mijo Soldin, VP of Voice and Telecom Strategy at Infobip . “With WhatsApp Business Calling, we seamlessly combine the convenience of chat with the immediacy of voice—in a secure, branded environment that customers trust and prefer.”

Available worldwide, WhatsApp Business Calling supports industries such as retail, banking, airlines, and e-commerce by enabling faster issue resolution. Integrating app-based voice calling into WhatsApp reduces friction and ensures seamless customer interactions. Integrated reporting and billing through the WhatsApp Business Platform simplify operations and provide valuable insights.
A key benefit of WhatsApp Business Calling is branded calling: Verified business profiles display the company name, logo, and a checkmark during the call, reinforcing brand authenticity, combating fraud, and increasing customer trust and response rates. This feature aligns with Infobip’s commitment to trusted, secure, and branded communication channels and complements the planned launch of Infobip’s Branded Calling ID (BCID) solution later this year.
