Coda Unveils Coda Links to Power Seamless and Compliant Direct-to-Consumer Monetization

Coda has launched Coda Links. This new solution helps publishers transform traditional link-outs into secure, high-performing direct-to-consumer (D2C) monetization experiences. Announced in Singapore, this launch shows a shift in the global digital economy. Regulatory changes now favor open payment and distribution systems.

Recent changes in major markets speed up the move toward out-of-app monetization. In the United States, antitrust rulings such as the Epic Games cases and Google’s proposed settlement are enabling developers to guide users to alternative payment methods. Europe’s Digital Markets Act has similarly reduced platform restrictions, while Japan’s Mobile Software Competition Act now requires Apple and Google to support alternative app stores, third-party billing, and external checkout links. Across Southeast Asia, tighter data protection and payments regulations are also prompting publishers to build more direct relationships with users.

These changes come as out-of-app monetization gains momentum. In Southeast Asia alone, it now represents 38% of mobile gaming revenue, up from 21% just two years ago. However, scaling direct commerce introduces new technical, operational, and compliance challenges—an execution gap Coda Links is designed to address.

Coda Links uses intelligent deep linking to identify users and pass key information, such as player ID, SKU, and preferred payment method, directly into a pre-filled checkout. By minimizing login requirements and multi-step flows, the solution reduces friction that often leads to abandoned purchases when users move from in-app to web.

Early results highlight its impact. Among major publisher partners, Coda Links captured 18% of iOS traffic redirected to Codashop, increased transaction volumes more than eightfold, and delivered a 14x rise in monthly revenue for a leading US publisher. Other adopters saw a 30% increase in new web store visitors within three months.

“Linkouts only create value when the underlying infrastructure is built to support scale. Coda Links gives publishers the control, reliability, and compliance foundations needed to drive incremental revenue through out-of-app monetization solutions,” said Zac Liew, Chief Commercial Officer at Coda.

With flexible integration options and global payment support, Coda Links positions publishers across gaming, streaming, and the creator economy to build sustainable, compliant D2C revenue channels worldwide.
