HAHN ACQUIRES EMIC COMMUNICATIONS

HAHN ACQUIRES EMIC COMMUNICATIONS

Hahn, one of the largest marketing and PR firms in Texas, has successfully acquired Emic Communications and has tapped Emic’s founder, Destin Singleton, to run its Energy and Power practice. The move is Hahn’s fifth acquisition, strengthening the firm’s expertise in the energy and power sectors. Singleton’s crisis communication experience also adds to Hahn’s well-established crisis communications practice. Specific terms of the acquisition deal points were not disclosed.

Singleton brings more than 25 years of experience leading strategic communications for energy companies navigating change, crisis, and operational transformation. Prior to joining Hahn, Singleton led Emic Communications, a boutique consultancy focused on change and crisis communications. Her career also includes leadership roles at major oil and gas players such as Shell and Marathon Petroleum.

“Destin’s deep experience and network in the energy sector paired with her ability to lead through complexity, makes her uniquely equipped to guide clients operating in high-pressure engagements,” said Jeff Hahn, principal at Hahn. “She understands the stakes and the pace at which these organizations have to run every day and is the perfect person to expand our energy and power practice.”

At Shell and Marathon Petroleum, Singleton led communications for large-scale transformations, including mergers and divestitures, organizational redesigns, and major crisis response. She has advised C-suites and frontline teams through volatile markets, regulatory shifts, and reputational risk.

“I’ve spent my career helping energy clients communicate clearly and confidently in moments that matter,” said Singleton. “Joining Hahn gives me the platform to scale that work, better support my existing clients and work across the energy value chain, from supermajors to municipal utilities.”
