Yahoo Mail Rolls Out New ‘Catch Up’ Feature to Help Users Tackle Inbox Overload

Yahoo Mail continues to elevate the personal inbox experience with a wave of intuitive, mobile-first, AI-powered features that reflect how people use email to manage their personal lives – an important evolution as nearly half of Yahoo Mail users today are Gen Z or Millennial.*

Email is an essential part of modern life, yet for many, it can be inefficient and overwhelming.  While nearly 70% of Gen Z and Millennials report checking their personal email inbox multiple times a day, almost half claim to have missed important events due to a disorganized inbox.**

Today Yahoo Mail announces the rollout of a catch up feature, the first in a series of new ways to simplify how users manage their inboxes. Exclusively available on the Yahoo Mail mobile app (iOS and Android), the feature allows users to catch up on unread emails in seconds with an easy, game-like experience — the only one of its kind from any email provider.

Here’s how it works: AI-powered summaries provide scannable email previews, giving users the option to “delete” or “keep in inbox” with a simple tap. The final reward? A celebratory screen for users to see how many emails they deleted, and how fast they did it.

To mark the rollout, Yahoo is launching a limited edition collaboration with iconic streetwear brand Anti Social Social Club to introduce a first-of-its-kind collaboration: “Anti Email Email Club.” The collection celebrates a better, easier email experience, because we’re all ‘anti email’ if it feels like work.

“We are evolving Yahoo Mail to be the best personal email service, built to take the stress out of a busy inbox and make email look and feel less like work. We’re all anti email when it becomes another tiring task,” said Kyle Miller, GM of Yahoo Mail. “With Yahoo Mail, personal email is quick and easy to sort and manage, with game-like experiences that are built for mobile, and relevant AI-powered tools integrated throughout. If you’re anti how email has worked for decades — welcome to our club.”
