Google Updates Search Quality Raters Guidelines

Google has updated its search quality raters’ guidelines, as another update after the one the company released in October 2021. The company has asked users to download the full 167-page PDF raters’ guidelines, to get a better understanding of the update.

The new version has refreshed language in the new overview section, a refined YMYL section, with more on low-quality content, YMYL, E-A-T, and more. According to Google, the new update will have improved YMYL to concentrate on subjects that need to be very accurate in order to avoid major harm; introduced a new table of examples; and updated previous examples.

It also consists of minor changes throughout, including updated screenshots; removed or updated outdated examples and concepts; removed user location when irrelevant; etc.
