UserTesting Secures Patent for AI-Powered Custom Intent Labels

UserTesting has been granted U.S. Patent No. 12,242,515 B2 for its AI-powered Custom Intent Labels, which improve the precision and personalization of customer insights. Unlike traditional AI research tools that rely on static vocabularies, UserTesting’s innovation dynamically adapts AI-generated insights to an organization’s specific terminology while maintaining global data consistency. This ensures that insights are more relevant and actionable. For example, “king” may refer to a mattress size for Serta, while for The Wall Street Journal, it could mean a historical figure or corporate leader. By enabling businesses to refine AI-driven insights using their own language, the technology helps teams surface critical findings faster and align on shared terminology.

“Handling the tedious parts of your job and increasing the speed to insight is one of the best uses of AI,” said Ranjitha Kumar, Chief Scientist at UserTesting. “Every company thinks and talks about CX in their own unique way; this technology lets UserTesting take just a few labeled examples of your digital interactions and generalize them across everything your users do.” This advancement empowers companies to make faster, data-driven decisions based on highly relevant customer insights.
