IAdea, MediaTek, and Microsoft Launch Digital Signage Solution on Microsoft Device Ecosystem Platform

IAdea, MediaTek, and Microsoft have announced a joint collaboration to introduce the world’s first digital signage solution built on the Microsoft Device Ecosystem Platform (MDEP). The new solution combines enterprise-grade security, centralized device management, and identity governance with a scalable and sustainable IoT architecture based on Microsoft’s secure implementation of Android—setting a new benchmark for commercial digital signage deployments.

The MDEP-enabled digital signage platform is built for constant, mission-critical retail use. It works 24/7 in places like restaurant menu boards, busy advertising displays, and interactive kiosks. This solution offers a secure, centrally managed base. Organizations can confidently operate and grow their digital signage networks.

At its core is the MediaTek Genio 720 system-on-chip (SoC). It combines industrial-grade reliability with high performance and built-in AI acceleration. The Genio 720 supports ultra-wide 5K or dual 2.5K displays. It delivers up to 10 TOPS of edge AI performance with an octa-core Arm CPU on a 6nm process. These features make it perfect for modern retail signs and interactive displays. They require great visuals and smart edge processing.

Building on the MDEP foundation, IAdea is introducing IAdea DSM™ (Display Solutions on MDEP), a software platform designed to integrate seamlessly with leading content management systems (CMS), digital menu board solutions, and kiosk applications. IAdea DSM leverages MDEP’s enterprise-grade capabilities, including identity management, conditional access, device attestation, and centralized lifecycle management. This enables IT teams to apply consistent governance, security policies, and operational controls across large-scale retail signage deployments.

“We are happy to join forces with MediaTek and IAdea to deliver secure, scalable, and innovative interactive and non-interactive displays through MDEP. This collaboration sets a new standard for digital signage,” said Juha Kuosmanen, Head of MDEP at Microsoft.

“Combining our Genio 720 platform with MDEP unlocks a powerful foundation for smarter and more resilient retail IoT,” said Sameer Sharma, AVP of the IOT Business Unit at MediaTek. “Together, our collective efforts will bring advanced AI performance and 24/7 commercial reliability to the next generation of intelligent digital signage.”

“MDEP opens a new chapter for secure and manageable display technologies, and IAdea is proud to lead this transformation with IAdea DSM,” said John C. Wang, CEO of IAdea. “By combining Microsoft’s secure OS foundation with MediaTek’s Genio performance, we’re delivering a modern digital signage architecture that retailers can trust, scale, and innovate on.”

With this collaboration, IAdea, MediaTek, and Microsoft are positioning MDEP as a foundation for the next generation of secure, intelligent, and enterprise-ready digital signage—enabling retailers and service providers to modernize in-store experiences while meeting stringent operational and security requirements.
