Consumer intelligence company NIQ has officially announced the launch of TDLinx Audiences, a new suite of local targeting solutions engineered to help brand marketers reach consumers based on their geographic proximity to specific retailers, store banners, and retail distribution channels.
Built directly upon NIQ’s verified retail location intelligence, the platform allows advertisers to align digital media budgets with the specific physical retail footprint most critical to their brand’s growth. The capability enables marketing teams to improve ad spend efficiency, support co-op retail promotions, execute competitive conquesting campaigns, and drive localized shopper marketing initiatives.
At launch, TDLinx Audiences is accessible to advertisers in the United States through demand-side platform (DSP) partner The Trade Desk. NIQ is debuting more than 270 syndicated audience segments spanning a dozen retail channels and thousands of verified store locations across national, regional, and specialty retail networks, with custom segment development available upon request.
Unifying Consumer Demand Signals with Store Proximity Data
The rollout of TDLinx Audiences complements NIQ’s established GeoPurchase Audiences platform, which evaluates consumer demand trends at the ZIP code level. By combining GeoPurchase’s category growth indicators with TDLinx’s precise location tracking, NIQ provides brands with a two-pronged approach to local media strategy:
- GeoPurchase Audiences: Identifies localized geographic markets exhibiting high category demand, emerging growth momentum, or uncaptured market share.
- TDLinx Audiences: Reaches active shoppers within the immediate physical vicinity of designated retail banners, channels, and store locations.
This integrated framework allows consumer packaged goods (CPG) brands and retail advertisers to direct media impressions where product demand and retail distribution overlap, ensuring higher conversion relevance for digital ad campaigns.
Executive Insights on Retail Visibility
“Ultimately, every campaign is judged by its ability to drive sales where products are sold,” said Maureen Stapleton, Global Commercial Lead of NIQ’s Media division. “Without visibility into retailer proximity, marketers are missing a critical signal that influences purchase behavior. TDLinx Audiences help close that gap, enabling brands to align media investments with the retailers and channels most important to their growth, supporting more efficient media activation.”
