Intermedia Cloud Communications, a leading provider of AI-driven cloud-based unified communications, collaboration and contact center solutions, announced it is acquiring all of NEC’s unified communications as a service (UCaaS) and contact center as a service (CCaaS) businesses in North America and NEC partner relationships in Europe. This acquisition is a significant milestone in Intermedia’s global expansion and further strengthens its leadership position in cloud communications. The transition for existing NEC customers and partners will be seamless, as they are already using NEC versions of Intermedia’s services all delivered over the Intermedia network under the UNIVERGE BLUE brand.
This announcement follows NEC’s strategic decision earlier this year to withdraw from unified communications operations in regions outside Japan . European support for NEC UNIVERGE BLUE will continue until the transition to Intermedia is completed in the coming weeks.
