Rumble Acquire Northern Data

Rumble

Rumble, the Freedom-First technology platform, announced it has entered into a business combination agreement with Northern Data AG (ETR: NB2) (“Northern Data”), a global leader in AI and high-performance computing (HPC) infrastructure. Under the agreement, Rumble will submit a voluntary public exchange offer to all Northern Data shareholders.

This follows Rumble’s August 10, 2025 announcement that it was exploring a potential strategic transaction with Northern Data.

Once completed, the transaction will enable Rumble to significantly scale its cloud business, adding one of Europe’s largest GPU estates and a robust data center portfolio. The acquisition will further accelerate Rumble’s international expansion, unlock new revenue growth opportunities, and fast-track the development of AI-driven capabilities across its creator, video, and advertising platforms.

Building the Freedom-First Technology Ecosystem

Earlier this year, Rumble announced Tether’s $775 million strategic investment in the company, a partnership that has since strengthened through initiatives like the Rumble Wallet and Tether’s continued support for this exchange offer. Together, these developments mark a transformative milestone in Rumble’s long-term Freedom-First vision-creating a next-generation technology ecosystem grounded in freedom, privacy, independence, and resilience.

As AI continues to reshape global industries, concerns have grown around the centralization of data and infrastructure within a few dominant tech companies. Rumble believes that for AI innovation to thrive, the ecosystem must rest on open, independent infrastructure that safeguards privacy and empowers users rather than restricting them.

“Northern Data. Tether. Rumble. This is how we build the AI ecosystem for the future, from the ground up,” said Chris Pavlovski, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Rumble. “Freedom-First is the new way forward for tech. Unlike Big Tech, it represents a future where technology empowers rather than controls. Built on the principles of free speech, privacy, independence, and resilience, Freedom-First seeks to ensure that people — not unaccountable digital gatekeepers — are in charge,” he continued. “The addition of GPUs and data centers to our existing video and cloud portfolio would just be the start. Our vision is to continue building out this ecosystem with the addition of new verticals, including financial services like Rumble Wallet, AI chatbots and agents, productivity suite with email and storage, and new web navigation solutions all in the name of freedom, privacy, independence and resilience.”

Strengthening AI Infrastructure and Global Compute Capabilities

The partnership with Northern Data combines complementary strengths—Rumble’s scalable video and cloud technology, Northern Data’s HPC infrastructure expertise, and Tether’s strategic backing—to create a next-generation AI and compute powerhouse. This collaboration is positioned to reshape the global AI infrastructure landscape by uniting distributed compute power with values centered on user control, transparency, and decentralization.

“The AI revolution requires a complete redesign of compute architecture, one that is underpinned not only by large scale GPU deployments and access to energy but a foundational commitment to individual control, customer enablement and scaled access to capital,” said John Hoffman, co-CEO of Northern Data. “Rumble’s Freedom-First initiative combined with Tether’s vision alongside Northern Data’s robust asset base creates a highly disruptive force in the AI infrastructure market.”
